Run the second 50% with your legs (you've trained for it just get in your rhythm). Run the last 50% with your heart (Dig deep!) 150%? Yes because a marathon is just that long.AZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07489341694241756318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031751345462244954.post-86408161154768673222009-10-09T06:13:01.268-07:002009-10-09T06:13:01.268-07:00I love "Major League." With the half and full runners starting together, it was CRAZY. Be careful...people just crammed themselves into the corral and didn't pay attention to the announcers. I definitely think you should start out slow and make up the time after the first three miles, it gets better at that point. Have fun! When you are running on the boardwalk, remember I'm cheering for you to finish strong and happy! That was my favorite part of the race, besides CSLB!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00129091073767399081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031751345462244954.post-28820373049647656902009-10-08T16:29:50.695-07:002009-10-08T16:29:50.695-07:00based on the results of the last marathon, I'd...based on the results of the last marathon, I'd say start at the front of the slower group. I'm sure your legs will feel fresh and awesome, and it would be way too tempting to take off with the quicker pace group. It cleared out quickly yet you were always surrounded by people on the course. I think it really helps that walkers start about an hour earlier and people there usually seed themselves well.Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04377440606704745517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9031751345462244954.post-50364158510606963072009-10-08T13:41:34.187-07:002009-10-08T13:41:34.187-07:00"Start off slow, then taper."

That's what I do. I walk the water tables if I'm going too fast and need to slow down. Sounds like you know what to do. Good luck! I will be doing the L.B. Can't wait to hear your race report. I'm thinking of doing my 2nd marathon in the Ottawa marathon in May of next year. I know you'll do great because you trained hard for this race.
