Houston, We Have a Problem

I'm not quite sure what caused it, but I'm fighting some nagging hip pain the past two weeks. I think it has something to do with the task chair that I have at work. Then again, if may have something to do with sitting on my left ass cheek in a mega poker session two weeks ago. Whichever it is, it's been painful to sit for any length of time, painful to walk most of the time, and overall, just a royal pain in the ass (well okay - hip).

I ran Tuesday night (late night in the office put the kibosh on Monday), and really had to painfully hobble on Tuesday. Since I have no fitness to lose, I took the rest of the week off. I'm hoping the rest and the Motrin will help. I think I'll give it a stretch up in the hills on Sunday.

  1. Uck! Sorry about the hip pain. I swear by a good massage therapist and then physical therapist! Hope it goes away soon....nothing worse than a long plane ride with a sore bum! :P

  2. Bummer Glen, hope it heals soon. Do you have a foam roller? I swear by mine for rubbing out most aches and pains.

  3. Dude! I've been there and actually have a twinge of it going on right now. My left hip joint, but I feel it most directly through that butt cheek. The last time I got this I did a couple of ice baths along with three days of ibuprofen and icing, and I stood as much as I could at work. I swear it was from sitting in the chair for several hours at a time.

  4. Sorry to hear about that. I highly recommend an ART session (like a very deep, targeted massage). My doctor is my hero as he can fix things often in one session and his office hours are convenient; Dr. Scott Neubauer (Coastal Health and Fitness).
