Oh What a Slippery Slope

So it all started last Friday as those of us in Southern California were spending our day complaining of the “deep freeze”. To be honest, we did see some ice at night. But “deep freeze” during the day equates to temperatures in the low 50’s. For me, those temps mean bundling up in sleeves and stuff. Since I’m not training for anything specific at the moment, my immediate response is “then why do it?” So, it was pretty easy to slack off and wait for the warmth to return. Long story short, the next thing I know, it’s Wednesday of this week, and I haven’t set foot out the door! Yikes!

So yesterday, I wandered out finally, and slogged through 3 miles….

Starting today – back on the calorie count wagon…..

  1. I actually got out more during this freeze, although my skin got all dry and nose wouldn't stop running in rebellion. I'm actually kind of sad about the warm-up... this morning's run was probably the warmest I'd like to tolerate.

When it gets cold, just think of Boston.

  2. Glen.....zip up your man suit. hahaha. Actually I am not a big fan of winter. I can only imagine when a california guy experiences freezing temps. Kind a like being on Mars. Best wishes with the calorie counts bud. Take care!

  4. I'm lucky I live in Johannesburg and training outside all year round is quite easy. I think I train more during winter than summer even.

  5. This is the time of year when I am reminded of the cold weather via the blogs that I read. I am lucky to live in Hawaii. I am sure the east coast folks wish they had SoCal and Hawaii training weather right now.
