I need to apologize for my infrequent posting these days. Several things are going on with life that are taking my time and attention away from some of the fun things in life. Oh well. Since I can;t say that I make a living out of running, I guess I’ll just have to grin and bear it.
This week starts week 3 of my journey to the Long Beach Half:
- Monday: Rest day
- Tuesday: 8 X 400, mile warm up, mile cool down for 6 miles total
- Wednesday: 3 miles easy
- Thursday: 40 minute tempo
- Friday: Rest day
- Saturday: 9 mile aerobic
- Sunday: 3 miles easy
- Total: 25 miles
I would like to pump the mileage up a bit, but with everything else going on I’m having trouble finding the time to execute the plan, much less add more to it. In fact, last week there were a couple days I didn’t get in, so I finished up with a rather anemic 18 miles on my feet.
Off to make good with life challenges!
RIght now 18 miles would be looking good for a week.
ReplyDeletePhew! I was close. 15.91mi for me last week. Maybe we should have a friendly competition... I think I'm aiming for 33 this week. Loser buys ice cream?
ReplyDeleteNo worries. Life happens. I hope everything evens out for you soon.
ReplyDeleteHe Glenn, thanks for following my blog.
ReplyDeleteOn a totally different tangent. I've been tracking my calories burned on my watch, with my weight, and with a energy estimator formula my dietitian is giving me. Basically it says my watch is wrong. The watch is overestimating my burned calories.
I'm doing some bio-metric measurements to figure out my fat content and it looks like I am adding muscle well, but not dropping enough fat.
Have you ever doubted your watch?
Ugg I hate when work/life gets in the way of running! Good luck with the 400s!
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologize. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhatever you have time for, try to make it good!
I totally feel ya on the postings! OMG Glen LB is right around the corner!!! What do you think of the shirts? Pretty cool hu?
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to apologize, the number one reason for doing your blog should be for YOU! ;)
ReplyDeleteGoof luck with the training in the upcoming week. Hopefully everything calms down a bit for you soon :)
ReplyDelete60 days is plenty of time!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be ready for it - don't worry. There are a lot of people running HM's on far less volume and structure than you maintain. Have a great week!
