Last night I introduced a hill into my (at present) meager mileage. And I still managed to run at a pace faster than I have the previous few weeks. Maybe…. Just maybe…
The other item of note was Babe was out last night. Dang! Too bad I didn’t have my camera. Who is Babe?
She is our resident Bobcat. Yes. She lives in Newport Beach. She knows how to live in style.
Today I’ll be out for a quick 2 mile recovery run. I may have to move my Thursday training run to Friday, but the mileage will get done.
A resident bobcat? AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteWhen I used to live down there, I went out for a run and turned right back around when I saw a coyote for the first time in person.
ReplyDeleteAs for doing that Billy Goat race, I'd have to see how many first trail foray turns out. I needed a practice round first before trail-ing in public.
Good grief, you know how I feel about running into animals. I've been using the treadmill a lot lately. Not sure why. The knats are starting to show up again on the Back Bay trail. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteOur neighborhood bobcat is getting a little big for my "comfort" zone....
ReplyDeletehow much resident catfood (bobcat food) is babe eating from backyards?
ReplyDeleteI think a bobcat beats the deer and fox I see on my runs! Very cool (I think?).
ReplyDeleteThe speed will come, just you wait!
Is it wrong that I want a resident bobcat??
ReplyDeleteUmm. I would not be making pitstops in the brush with bobcats nearby..... Yowza!
ReplyDeleteYikes! Seeing that during a run would force me to start sprinting.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I think I'd run faster than expected if I ran into Babe too. Beautiful creature. Glad you may be getting your mojo back, Glenn.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the resident bobcat! I'll trade ya- your bobcat for my neighborhood bear! Glad running is feeling better! :)
ReplyDeletethat's gotta help your pace.. I see that? Negative split for sure!
ReplyDeleteIf I saw the resident bobcat, I'd freak!!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG, grab the cats and kids!! That bobcat is huge and scary. You act like its nothing!
ReplyDeleteWe have some issues with mountain lions, so I never hike alone. Hope that 2 mile recovery turned out good. Hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cat! Bigger than the bobcats I've seen on my trails.
ReplyDeleteWow! That would scare me.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. Everybody in my family except me has seen a bobcat in the wild. I am jealous you have a resident bobcat! :)
ReplyDeleteContinued good luck with your training. I would definitely say there is more than a glimmer of hope. Much success to you!
Crazy! I love the neighboorhood bobcat!! Good to know she exists I will keep an open eye.
ReplyDeleteAre you serious about that bobcat? Rattlesnakes, bobcats, what else do you see on your runs?
