Foiled Again

So – I was planning on an easy 3 to 4 miles yesterday. But, life conspired yet again. I couldn’t get out of my office until 5:30 or so, and I had a social gathering at 7:00PM. So it was either run and show up stinky and hungry, or eat and shower. Being civilized won out and my run didn’t happen. So has my last month gone…..

Today I’ll try to get out for a 40 minute tempo run. I have a large proposal that I need to get out the door tomorrow – so my day will be consumed with that – but I don’t have anything going on this evening. I can always run late.

And – even though I know that missed miles are missed miles – I will try to add a couple or three miles to my weekend runs. I *have got to* work on my aerobic conditioning. I am *not* going to run another 2:30 half marathon in 8 weeks……

  1. The cool thing about running is that it's always there, waiting for you. :)

You're on a roll, though, and with all of your training runs you'll be ready and speedy for your half marathon. Right?

  2. By far my favorite reason to run in the morning before work - only excuse is that I'm lazy if it doesn't happen.

  3. I missed my tempo this morning too because of a downpour and it's just about killing me. I was really looking forward to it. I'll just have to beat the heck out of it tomorrow!

  5. If it makes you feel any better, I missed my morning run this morning and am pretty sure it's not going to happen tonight. We'll start fresh!

  6. Glenn, you've been spinning up the World with your running every day ... relax ... let it spin down so you can spin it up again.

    You are awesome.

  7. I think you are doing great!! Chalk these foiled days up as "rest days". I know how you feel though -- when I can't get out and run, I make sure and work on my core on the floor watching my favorite soap : )

  8. Cmon now. No more of this! We are turning our slack lives around, remember? No ice cream for you, I'll make sure your portion is taken care of though, don't worry.

It might appear that taking 'roids brought my mojo back. Maybe you could try that? Jk of course. I think it had more to do with taking a whole month off...
