Back to the Task

Last night I put in the four miles I was supposed to on Thursday. Nice and easy at Crystal Cove at sundown. In 70 degree weather. Gads I'm spoiled!

Stats - 9:05 per mile at 78% of MHR. This is well over a minute a mile faster than a year ago. I sure hope I'm not peaking 10 weeks early. One thing I can tell you - I really feel that running fewer days and miles and spending time cross training has left me feeling much fresher.

Sorry for the quick short post. I'm trying to get psyched up for my 20 miler this morning. I'm not going to repeat last weekend's debacle. Time for my apple fritter!

  1. I hope that apple fritter is enough for your 20 miles Glenn. I hope you have a good 20 miler today. Go get em'!

  5. Nice time! Interesting about the running less and feeling fresh thing. I notice that, too. I have also noticed that hitting the gym and working on my leg muscles with free weights has added to my speed. I guess...it all comes down to balance. (?) And..YES..YOU ARE SPOILED! We had a nice 1/4" thick icy covering on everything here today. I saw someone out running and worried he'd break his neck..am hoping he had some sort of traction gizmos on his shoes. Egad!

  7. The cross training has always helped me too. Glad you're enjoying it.

And also thank you for saying something on your blog last week about rowing. You reminded me how good it is, and wow, did it give me a workout today, for my abs and legs. Wow.

Oh, and yes, you are so spoiled. Hearing you and Penny talking about 70+ degrees is turning me forest green!!
